    Angry Spanner Light

Came on last night when I started the car. Turned the ignition off then on again, and it went out. Same again this morning, but won't go off. And I think...but i'm not sure...it's in limp mode, seems to have no turbo, and struggle to get it over 2000rpm.

Guess i'm on for another trip to the stealers.....they're getting to know my little car quite well!

Possibly...don't want to get on the wrong side of them if poss...the guy on service reception is quite approachable, and i have a sneaking suspicion that he'll probably carry on stamping the job sheet for warranty work when i start to mod the car this year.

But this is the 3rd trip this month....nothing in the first 9 months I had the car, and now this. Well, hopefully, the rule of threes will apply, and this will be it...

    Default Update...

Well, took it it this morning. Arrived 9am, spoke to the nice bloke on service reception, said I needed the car for work tonight, etc, etc. He assured me that if nothing else, mine would be one of the first to have the codes read, and see what was up with it..

12:00, a phone call...hello sir, about your vectra...we've identified the problem, it's the inlet manifold. OK, I say, fine, have you got one in? Suprisingly, they did, but apparantly it's a 5 hour job - if it all goes smoothly!!!!

FFS, they're supposed to be VX trained mechanics, and its a 1 year old car. How the **** can it not go smoothly? Well, at least I'm having my money's worth from the manufacturer's warranty!

So, I may get it back tonight, I may not....

That unfortunately is one of them jobs that can turn into a mare, studs snapping etc, possibility of Vx having variations of the part, I know it's annoying but the anything to do with the exhaust system gets so much of a heat bashing it becomes a lottery when disassembling it.

Apparently there are 2 recalls outstanding on my car....nice of them to pick up on that on any of the 3 occasions it's been in this month

They're going to read the bulletins, find out what's needed and call me back...
