Yo chuck, did ya have a David Bailey moment today and take some snaps of your faulty part..?
yess mate i got a picture of the part! my car in vauxhall now so i got my dad to take a picture of the part and i have put a arrow were it keeps braking and leaking petrol from, here it is: IMAG0109.jpg
vx said they think it might be the engine mount? that the engine might be moving about to much and causing it to brake? what do you think?
ok thats the fuel line and where it bolts to the fuel rail.. so you keep shagging that connection.. and needing to change that actual part...?
Very very strange... VX are talking crap as usual, the fuel delivery pipe is fed down the side of the engine as you will have noticed and this all moves with the engine so it will not just break its seal for vibration.. Trust me mine is tuned like a gooddun and kicks like a mule yet i have never heard of anybody having this fault..
I would think the pipes you are buying are gen as its not really an aftermarket or pattern type part.. It could be the thread on the fuel rail connection or the rubber seal washer is shagged.. Let me go and have check of mine, i also have a spare fuel rail in my garage so if necessary you can give that a try....
will come back to you later today..
Yes mate I've had to change it 3times now!, the 1st time it happened we found out the owner before had that on one washer! I got it changed and got it on 2 washers again but still the same problem. Ok mate (y)
And yes the parts are all from vx no aftermarket ones.
ok... now I am aware that there are two different styles/models of fuel rail used on these engines.. Can you advise what reg you car is, can you also confirm the colour of your fuel injectors and the shape of the fuel rail (round or square).. A few pics of your engine would cover any of this info... Also do you know what model turbo it is, just trying to figure out what has been done and what hasn't.. a pic will help resolve that as well
The washer or O ring is always a possibility, you would normally have an O ring and then a felt type washer on top with the aperture on the fuel rail....
ok ill get the info to you once i wake up, just done a night shift lol. but i wont be able to get any pics to you until monday as my car in vx atm. since ive had the car ive took no pictures of the engine. im going to try and find some from the ebay page i brought this car off but i think most of them have a engine cover on.
i got in contact with the owner before yesterday and i asked him if he had the same problem, he said he did but only happened to him once and he thought there was to much pressure from the re-map but he got it checked out and they said the pressure was fine. after he replaced the broken part he never had a problem again (which explains why it had only one washer when i got the car) the car is getting fully looked at on monday aswell and they still think it could be the engine mount but like you said mate i think there wrong about that.
will get all info to you asap! i will dm you everything mate (y) thank you for your help!
Ok, what reg is it though.?
Fuel pressure ti high ??
