No idea what the image is, but it's just thrown up a report in my Sophos antvirus software. (Mal/HTMLGenA). Access has been denied.
Have you not got a handbook to refer to? There's one available for free download from Vauxhalls website.
Car with spanner through it, Dave.
Can be many problems that would throw up that light. I'd get it to a garage and plugged in to get the codes read.
the picture you can not see is a picture of a car with a spanner through the middle of it and it like a yellow colour ?????
From the Owner's Handbook (you know, that thing that comes with the car that tells you what all the warning lights mean and how to use the car? Very useful book, that You can download it if you haven't got one.)
Engine electronics, transmission electronics
Fault in engine electronics or transmission electronics. Electronics switch to emergency running programme. Fuel consumption may increase and driveability of the vehicle may be impaired – see page 166. Fault in immobiliser system – see page 55. Contact a workshop. We recommend your Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
will download it now cheers guys
Sounds like the EMS has detected a fault, displayed the image (in the REV counter display), and then entered safe mode
You have then restarted the engine or allowed at least 24 hours to pass
The EMS has then not had the same fault, so it is now a recorded fault
After a few days or further engine restarts this warning should disappear
In these circumstances I ignore it, unless or until it happens more often
My car does it once every 6 to 9 months, I just switch the engine off, wait about 10 minutes and I am left with just the displayed warning and two days later that has disappeared
