dimming mirror

hi guy's, my mirror stopped working a long while back, never really bothered me until now and with these dark nights it seems most cars have very bright lights and unless you tilt the mirror out of the way there's nothing i can do about it. + i kinda miss the led that shines down too. Any way i have checked all cables to the best of my ability, checked fuses and connections in the boot etc. What i'm wondering is... could the mirror be retro wired off the map lights? i'm not definatly going down this route if it's possible but has it been done?

Did you check the fuses in the boot? Someone had this issue a couple of months back, and although there is no listed fuse for it, there was a fuse blown in the REC and replacing that sorted it.

Thanks Das, I checked them also but rechecked after your suggestion but unfortunately all were intact. Someone before had suggested the Cim module. Anyway of checking this?
