Vibration from 3.0 V6 CDTi Vectra

In the V6 in 6th you'll be doing 76mph at 2000 revs.

I've done a few tests with cruise control at 70 mph
That sounds about right, as I only use 6th gear to decelerate
Crusing on the Motorway I use 5th gear as I have noticed that it is more efficient
The instant MPG will sit at between 70 and 85 mpg, when compared to 6th gear which will sit between 50 and 65 mpg

As a result, I have stopped using 6th gear (Autobahn gear!) except to decelerate

How about the trac control light and pas warning light??

The 3.0 V6 CDTI doesn't have Traction Control, mine certainly doesn't as I can floor it and get massive wheel spin!
However, the SDS is working as this has kicked in a few times during aquaplaning
Strange you should mention the PAS warning light, as mine appeared in the vehicle control display on Saturday but the engine was running
I switched the engine off then back on again, and it never appeared again

TC is standard on the V6 as it is part of ESP+, certainly on facelift models but unswitchable.

as above, the v6 definitely has traction control, i've even got a switch on the dash to switch it on or off.

i have experienced some vibration in mine but i don't think it's the same as what is being described here.

at very rare intervals, at motorway speeds the steering wheel will vibrate wildly, the wheels don't follow suit as the car remains pointing in the right direction (thankfully)

as i said, its very rare, has happen around 4 times in the year and a half i have had the car.

I'm assumong when they hook up the ccar to machine (tech 2??) it'll show up the faults?? Will it also show up faults on injectors if that is vibration??

Tested this on the M74 today, with assistance from a Police car fitted with a calibrated VASCAR
In 6th gear :
At 1800 rpm the speed is 68 mph
At 2000 rpm the speed is 71 mph
At 2200 rpm the speed is 74 mph

Tolerance on reading +/- 3%

The switch is for SDS not Traction Control

Good call Benny, indeed it is the SIM which needs replacing!!! Until they have done this though they can't try a software update to cure the vibration before going down injector/gasket route but the wheels are in motion!!!!

same thing .........the pas needs to know when the wheel is turned and the traction needs to know witch way the wheel is going .....same thing as the indicators its called your steering angle sensor all housed in the cim....

nah the indicators is the cim is faulty .......nowt to do with engine

The indicators on my Vectra stopped working on Thursday
Since I was away from home, I popped into a local VX garage and they had the car for 15 minutes
They advised me to book the car in for repair and take both keys, and to contact them as they taken a note of the fault found
