stuck! gearbox help

Am stuck 10miles away from home. I took the car out of gear n stuck it in reverse only to find no reverse! Now there's no gears! It's 5am going to waitttill morning. Any help anyone?

hi mate just make sure the gear linkage cables are still connected,,there on the top of the gearbox, two of them the other end then runs into car to the gear stick,just pop the cover from round the g/stick and u will see them,really its a 2 man job,one to watch the gear box end while other moves the stick, also try pumping clucth pedal loads of times,

Check the gear stick is still connected to the cable lift up the gear surround and push the gator and lift it up to see under the gear stick

Thank you for the reply. Am still stuck. I took the gaitor off. Everything seems to be connected.

That's as much use as an ashtray on a motor bike.



Probably popped off at the gear box end linkage, go into reverse link pops off and no other gears.

Sorry guys for the late reply. Moving houses really stressful. Erm yes u guys were right... Some round thing came out of the little ball (sorry about my wording). So I just pushed it back in place and its all fine again. It fell off at reverse. I got it checked, the mechanic said its fine. So its still a mystery how it happened in the first place. Thanks guys, if it weren't for u I probably would have still been there :P
