snapped spring

i heard about the stories of vectras snapping springs on the rear

heard a twanging from the front today and i have a snapped spring, good job i have 2 spare complete struts i can swap over

first time in years im having to pay someone to fix my car (apart from mot's) as im just out of hospital with pleurisy

getting the arb bushes done at the same time so not so bad

Springs are not the best on Vecs. Best to put some none vx ones on, as they will break again. Eibach springs are a good choice if you want stronger springs, but it will lower the ride thou.
Arb bushes will make a difference to the quality of ride, suprising how a piece of rubber can make a huge difference.

I still have a set of springs that i took off my 09 plate vectra cdti lying in a box in my garage. Free to a good home as long as they are collected or collection is arranged by person who needs them.
I took them off & replaced them with a set of Eibach springs & couldnt be bothered to swap them back over when i traded the car in.

i already have a pair of struts with springs, i bought replacement ones when i was getting the crunching noises but it turned out to be the bushes

the arb bushes were fine, the crunching was coming from 3 subframe bolts that were loose he reckons they had about 15mm movement untill the were nipped tight

the clutch was just done before i bought it, youd think they woulda tightened them up lol
