alternator advise please

driving my 19cdti signum ,battery light came on ,then went off ,battery went flat ,but ive lost power steering and fuel gauge ,,charged battery ,but still same problem but without battery light ,ANY SUGESTIONS regard mick

My last Vectra (CDTi 150) had it fail exactly the same way. New alternator and a set of jump leads sorted it

The power steering is the first thing to stop working when the alternator fails, as it's a heavy drain on the battery, being electric rather than pump driven.

just had mine go on me, battery light, then abs, then power steering.........

after being relieved of £240 last week all is back in order

allthough, I did notice that my fuel gauge read half a tank when I knew it was almost empty yesterday. It's been fine since I filled it up again... cars

Put a 130amp alternator in. Can bet my life a 100amp one comes out..... I was advised by Vauxhall and Euro Car parts to fit the uprated one.

Got mine from Euro car Parts. Go to their web site and use code "aoccom25" at the checkout, currently giving 25% off with it. Just ordered some bits for my Vectra using it. Not sure how long it's valid for though
