Sounds good, I knoew the 170/180PS 1.9 was on the way, it does make sense to keep it for the new car.

and shows the tuning potential and reliabilty of a 1.9CDTi with a 170-180bhp output!!

If / when the name changes, watch the depreciation of the Vectra increase off the scale!!!

I think the V6 200ps is very interesting ... sounds like it might be another 'tweak' to the existing engine as mine is currently 190bhp standard so not much to push it to 200ps. hmmmm!

There will be some hardware upgrades to the 1.9 powerplant for the 170bhp engine, it also looks now that Vectra replacement won't get the 2.0 CDTi, the 2.0 engine is a Korean built unit totally different from the 1.9 engine we have now. The 2.0 is apparently only for the Antara. The latest TIS has all the details.

It is about time, Vauxhall/Opel are way behind with V6 Diesel performance to be honest, with Audi now offering 230bhp with their 3.0 Common Rail V6 TDi and BMW also around the 230bhp mark, Vauxhall have a long way to go.

Persoanlly I think the limitations are down to the engines origins, it's an old Izuzu unit modified for todays standards, and I am wondering if this is as far as they can take it. They should be offering in my opinion at least 220PS.

Yes I agree ... I feel it's interesting they aren't considering this engine end of life as it's been about for so long, particularly as the 150 cdti seems much more tuneable AND efficient than the V6 ... oh well!

If they dont give this new model a masculine name this time they are gonna fail, it's gotta be a Magnum, the only ppl who will buy this car are fleet users who couldn't care what it's called and mostly blokes plus the odd female who knows how to change a flat tyre with a competitive nature, who will also want a big *** ard named car as well.

MAGNUM - It's not gotta a manservant called Higgins and it might blow you away if you feel lucky.

Or INSIGNA - Might just as well call it the Vx Blue Stratos,Old Spice, or maybe BRUT.

Look what happened to the Integra, no one remembers it's name, and it's a bit on the hairdresser side anyway.
