Tow Bar Wiring Help Please

Hi, I have recently fitted a witter towbar and a VX dedicated 7 pin wiring kit to my 58 plate Vectra, got VX to Tech 2 it for me and to disable the reverse light whilst it was having a service and I thought all had gone well.

I have just bought a trailer and cant understand when I connect it up to the car, all my bulb warnings are displayed and the indicators flash like mad but the bulbs on the trailer are working? I have tried it on a few different light boards with the same results.

I have seen a few similar posts but no solution.

I think you will find the wiring on the trailer/plug is faulty.

The usual is for the sidelights on the trailer to share one feed for the sidelights, so you get a bulb warning on the car.

There also sounds like a neutral/ground fault on the trailer too.

Have a quick look at the amount of wires in the trailer socket, should be 7! Any less and you will get all kinds of errors and flashing lights on a bulb sense circuit.
