Power Steering Issues - 3.0 v6 cdti

So the power steering stopped working about 80 miles away from home. Deep joy. Left the car for around a week at the carpark it was in (off on business) and when I came back it was still not working, but then did after driving around 20 meters. Stopped 10 miles later for fuel and not working again!!

Anyways, I have now swopped the pump for a second hand one and it's working fine, just the warning light on the dash won't go out. I'm assuming it needs Tech2'd so that it knows it's got a different unit on it?

and if this is the case I guess I'll have to get the security pass from Vaux? Only problem being the part came from the local scrappy. Would Vaux still release the pass? I've got the number plate for the car, but would they need any other proof? Or could they check it's scrapped etc?

Not sure if you would need details off the old car or weather it's just a case a telling the car the new one is their
