Air con hissing constantly after re-gas

Just had air con re-gassed last week. At first it was quiet and blowing ice cold. In the space of a week it has developed a hissing sound when on any speed. This noise disappears when AC is turned off. It may be my imagination but it also doesn't seem as cold. I trust the garage where it was done and he's asked me to take it back in which I will do next week.
Is this hissing sound normal? I've not had it recharged in 5 years. It passed the leak test but could this be a bust compressor?

I had the same scenario & problem. all the gas leaked out again and its blowing hot air

So I presume the hissing noise is the gas escaping? How would the system pass the leak test then? What was wrong with yours?

Just been out to the shops. it's totally bust now blowing hot air.....it's cooler outside. Not a happy camper!!!!!!!

I'm really peeved now. if the condensor was bust/leaking would this not be picked up by the leak test done prior to re-gassing?

Similar story to mine. Been told its leaking from the evaporator which is a pig of a job to remove. Is there anyone on the site with a vectra with working aircon!?
