Default Good headphones that aren't in ear

I'm after a decent pair of earphones for my phone/ipad but I can't get away with the round 'in ear' ones that you stuff right into your ear canal.

I much prefer the smaller ones that sit lightly in your ear, but I can only find cheap pairs. Ideally I wanted a quality set from someone like Sennheiser but all I can find from them is the MX80 which might be ok, but as they're around a fiver from Argos don't inspire me!

I don't want noise cancellation etc, just a half decent sound from earphones that I don't have to push into my ear. I've tried loads with different adaptors and they never fit right, or stay in properly, maybe I've got odd ears but thats the way it is

    Anyone got any recommendations?

Beats by dre are crap ! There are thousands of pairs of earphones starting from £5 that sound better than the beats.

I've had a couple of sets of senheiser cx400's and ther ok but I recently bought a set of marley in ears and I was more than pleasantly surprised with the quality for the money they out play my senheiser's by miles. The marley's are available at hmv if you want to have a look/listen

I'm a sound engineer by trade and i have been through many sets of 'cans' over the last few years. Sennheiser
    HD 25-1 II's
are quite a favourite, loud and PLENTY of bass. My personal favourites are beyerdynamic DT770's, so comfortable you almost forget you're wearing them.

Cheers I'll have a look at some of those. I really don't want in ear though, I just can't get away with them! I wear them when I go running/cycling and I find the in ears fall out easily whereas the 'standard' ones seems to stay put.
