Quite common on Vectra i'm afraid, however, if the plastic backing is still in the mirror, then yes just glue it back in. I understand some of our members have used sillicone to stick the glass back in.

Bit of superglue an it'll be reet

Did that to my passenger mirror last year an still ok.

Failing that, Halfords sell stick on ones

    You're lucky then.

Superglue doesn't allow for expansion and contraction. Hence why it's unsuitable for sticking rear view mirrors back on as it can result in cracking the windscreen.

Decent double sided sticky tape should work too.

Get a tube of black silicon from Screwfix stays flexible and waterproof - only a couple of quid - best way to stick the mirror back in and you will have loads left for when the other side falls out - which won't be long

common fault as mentioned above. always seems to happen when you have just washed the car

it seems that when using your heated mirrors through the winter. seems to dry the glue

it happened to me aswell i used bostik glue its been ok for the last 3 years

there have been a lot of threads on here about the mirrors falling off

Mine fell off after a while with superglue. 'No more nails' and all is well.
