    Default Folding Mirror Question

Just after some confirmation on pre-facelift folding mirrors. I remember a few years ago fitting electric folding mirrors to a 2006 Vectra. When the mirrors were folded in by holding the lock button down on the key they then unfolded when the doors were unlocked with the key.

I have noticed on my pre-facelift that the mirrors do the same when locking but do not unfold when unlocking. I'm thinking this is due to the early door modules not being capable.

    Can someone comfirm?

    Cheers.

cant help you out here Paul . but i know that all the bits that i got were from a preface . ( drinky on here ) and these were fitted to my facelift . they fold/unfold with the key , but if you just use the switch inside then you have to use the switch again to unfold . ( say like you park up and press the button inside to fold them in ,then lock the car when you unlock the car again the mirrors will not unfold , you have to press the switch to un fold them ,) khalid

Cheers Khalid, understand the above, I believe it's a safety feature, if you fold in with the switch they don't unfold on the key. This is so if you're in a tight spot the mirror doesn't get hit.

My car has both these modules, I know they are folding mirror capable but wanted to know why they didn't fold out out on the key!

I suspect it's a difference between pre-face and facelift why they do not unfold on the key.
