    Default Screw fell into engine

    Hi,

When I was changing my air filter tonight the small screwdriver head fell into the engine. After looking with a tourch for a while I managed to see it. Thankfully it seems to have fallen into the bottom tray. I don't have magnetic rod and have tried to get it out without luck.

Will it be safe to leave it in there until I get the car to a garage up on the ramp to fetch it? The car is due a service next Monday.

    Thanks

I think that's happened to all of us mate. I'd say it'll be safe. There's 4 or 5 on the engine tray on mine :/

Thanks, maybe it will fall off the tray when I drive to work tomorrow. Just worried it will ping up the way towards the engine but im sure it will be fine. When I couldn't find it and checked the pavement, I had to move the car. When I was about to turn the key I was sweating!!

You're also 2 cylinders and a turbo light so can get your hand in to pick them out.

There's half a feeler gauge (2 thou) floating around inside my motorbike engine somewhere.
It decided to fall off my feeler gauge set when I was setting the tappets ages ago. Probably minced up by now by the gears and since been drained out when I next did an oil change, but it might still be lying in the sump somewhere for all I know.

Magnetise the end of a screwdriver by rubbing it against a strong magnet. That should get it out?

Straighten a metal coat hanger and stick a blob of blue tac on the end of it.

    Will do the job nicely.
