Well guys i would like to thank you all for you words of support. The last few hours have been a little stressful to say the least.
We both woke this morning feeling a bit rough around the edges (slight understatement) but so glad that the Vectra is such a strong car.
I've been to the police to produce the documents as is normal practice and also to the breakers to have a look at my pride and joy in daylight.
It has had a bit more damage caused to it by the recovery team putting it back on its wheels
For a bit of info, the side curtain airbag runs for the whole length of the car! Not an easy way to find this out but very reassuring
I went to have a look at the crash scene and was shocked to find there are now slippery road warning triangles placed 100 yards or so either side of where my car was . The fields either side of the road are also flooded and i think this is what has caused the mud to wash onto the road.
I'll think about what to do with regards to that when i've sorted everything else out as my son's and my health are all that concerns me at the moment.
The insurance have said i can have a courtesy car until it is decided what is happening with mine. I pointed out that it is in a bad state but she assured me it did'nt matter. If it is written off then i will have to give the car back but until they make a decision i'm ok so i'm sorting that out this afternoon too.
Here are a few pics of my pride and joy feeling a bit sorry for itself.
I have removed a lot of the bits that were intact so there might be a few things in the "For Sale" section soon
