    Default rear suspension banging help

    hi all newbie here.

    i got a 2006 vectra club lpg/petrol

i get a knock/ bang coming from the rear drivers side of the car when i go over a bump,
it is only on this side and when im on a flat road it doesnt happen.

not very mechanically minded but i always try and fix things myself to keep the cost down.

is there any bushes that might be worn etc?

    thanks in advance

sounds like the upper arms are knackered, cheap enough to buy but not fund to fit, i paid a bloke £80 to fit mine, the arms cost about £40

    cheers mate
will both sides need to be done as the knock is only one side?
and will it need doing soon
it has just had all 4 springs done for the mot and i thought the knocking noise was that but it is still there.

its best to do both sides to balance the car properly.. its worth checking your ARBs (anti tool bar bushes) as well while there at it..

    cheers nige,
cant believe all the springs needed doing as the cars only done 59k
i went for a cheaper option of buying from ebay they came off a 2008 sri so they will be a little lower than my standard club springs, hope they last a little longer.

lol factory springs are known to break mate, most of us replace them with something better for roughly the same price or cheaper than a dealer replacement spring set..

luckily they were only £30 not sure what my mates going to charge tho for fitting them tho.
if they go again i think ill go for lowering springs since reading a few discussions on this problem.

my rear knocking noise turned out to be the shock itself, found out after fitting driver side upper control arm
