Default Signum V6 CDTI on AutoTrader

If anyone was thinking of going to look at the blue Signum V6 CDTI with F T Cars in Leeds, don't waste your time! I've just been and it's a right heap! Its described as being 'exceptional' which is about as far from the mark as you can get! Since the auto trader pictures were taken, its been reversed into something as the drivers side rear corner is very badly scuffed and there's a large bare metal dent/scratch from the filler cap and 1/2 way down the door. The interior looks very well worn and it stinks of ingrained fag smoke! I cant comment on the condition of the engine as it as it has 4 flat tyres so I couldn't test drive it!!

Shame ... Sounds like my first Signum that I went to view in London at a dealers ...04 plated 2 litre turbo design in ultra blue.. Called and they confirmed "immaculate" told them I was on the way got there at 10 am not a straight panel on the car near side rear light cluster was hanging out the interior was sooooooo damp that the seat belts had mould on them. Abs warning light on and 2 flat tyres ...needless to say I was peed off having driven 80 mles to view and buy it!

I then drove to Leicester and purchased an 04 plated 2.0t elegance for an absolute steal as the garage didn't know what the car was ...or how much it was really worth..

I hope you find a decent one ... They are still out there

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

Yes, this is one of the issues with the 3.0 V6 CDTI, they don't sell well as they are seen as heavy fuel / expensive
Even my own car in 2006 had clearly been sat for several months, after being disposed of by the previous owner about 7 months before I bought it
Equally, it was well hidden on their forecourt and I had to ask where it was
The first thing I noticed was it had no Tax Disc (as I later found the previous owner had removed it and refunded 2 months)
On first viewing I was advised "It might not start as it has been sat for a few weeks", the salesman eventually appeared with the keys and a technician with a battery box, but it started without any problems "Blimey, we didn't expect that"

A trick here is to ask on what date the dealership accepted into their stock, if acceptable then ask that the documents are made available on that first viewing, and compare the date you were given to that on the V5 (transfer)

I looked at a Vectra C for a relative, but found some small concerns so we walked away as the dealership (cross branded) was not prepared to discuss any further and resolved
Basically the fronts could be seen to have worn unevenly and although there were different tyres I was able to establish the older batch had worn unevenly, this all suggested a failed caliper and the tyre would need replacing as it would only last about 1000 miles before reaching the legal minimum
Didn't even bother asking to look inside it...

That's the one. I was really disappointed as I was looking forward to driving (and buying) it.

That is an ex-Vauxhall fleet car (same batch as mine)
So "one lady owner" is incorrect, slightly misleading as she was the second owner
Looks like the front bumper has seen some action, look at the bottom
Equally, I can't see any of the possible extras, looks just like a standard elite to me
Should have been in good condition when with that second owner
Suggests something has gone wrong and the current (trade) seller acquired it in auction
Finally, why is it on a public road with no Tax Disc or trade plate?

hint, it might have just thrown the SCV failure, the mileage is right for that, hence the disposal

You and your SCV faults. Seems like thats the answer to all problems. My old one has done over twice that and they have never been touched, as are many many more.
