whats the correct cable/wire

hi all, i posted a few weeks ago regarding my broken rear interior light, the father in law pulled it and brought part of the ribbon cable with it (ace) ive spoke to a few lads on here who say replacing the ribbon cable is easy enough one guy even offered to help me do it. however, rather than messing about removing the headlining im thinking of just following this how 2 http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24396. which i guess i can do by just fishing the cables from the front light to the rear without having to mess about with the headlining and also it may be faster. but what cable/wires should i use, i have loads of insulated 1.5mm twin earth cable on me van could i just use that?? thanks. rob

1.5mm is too thick...

you need a bit of cable normally refered to as speaker wire or bell cable

haha. i posted last night as anyone with a life was out having a drink lol, as i was on call i was not out but sat at home haha.

You'll have to drop head lining anyway to feed the cables surely?

In Which case worth paying the 8 quid for the ribbon and fitting it.
