    Default Questions to ask employers

I have a telephone interview today with the MD of a company , and i have never had one of these

What questions should i ask, i have a few already what do you think ??

First of all, is there anything you’d like me to clarify or explain in more detail from my CV ?

Do you have any doubts about my ability to do this job?

What do you see as the priorities for this job in the first three months?

If I was given the job, how do you see the role evolving in five years time?

How do you think the company might grow over the next five years?

What type of training opportunities do you offer?

Why has this job come up?

How does my role fit with the overall vision at your company?

How will you measure my performance? How often?

When will I hear about the outcome of this job?

being a yoof I've only ever had two "proper" interviews but i dont think id ask this question... Do you have any doubts about my ability to do this job? I can see where your going with it but it dies sound a bit negative...

On a side note this post has come up very strangely on my computer! The text is down the side on the left where the pic & username should be and theres a massive grey box where the post should be...

Edit: Once i submitted my reply it sorted itself out! :s

yeah, I think that would be an interviewer dependant question, if I felt he would understand my point and appreciate the frankness, I know I've had some where interviews where I think they would get the wrong end of the stick, sometimes interviewers are too focussed, likewise, interviewees, to see an open and honest question that can be beneficial for both sides.

agree with the above - drop 'doubts about my ability' as it does sound a bit negative. fact is you've made it to the interview - so they already think you have the ability to do the job. They're just testing you as a person now lol. I think that the other questions are good, as it shows you're thinking not just about yourself and a wage, but the company as a whole.

A questions you ask should have a positive tone to them. As said about saying something like "doubt" in a question is an absolute no, no. Negative works get taken out of contect and refelected on the person subconciously (spelling)... Think of it as you sellig yourself to the company... What questions could you ask them which will make them think we need to "buy" this chap....

For example.... "Looking forward across the next year what do you face as YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE for the business and if SUCSESSFULL how CAN I ENSURE these met and EXCEEDED"..... The capital words are things I would emphasize when speaking.

    Other questions to ask

    * Would you like me to expand in more detail any of my previous experiance highlighted in my CV?

    * What uniques are you looking for in the ideal canditid for this role?

    Also prepare some statments like

    * When looking at your companies web site some key areas of interest jumped out at me. These were X,Y&Z... This showed to me a really forward thinking business and resinated with experiance I have specificly arround .....

    * When preparing for the interview today I outlined some key points I would look to action in my inital 30 day plan and moving forward into my 90 day plan. These are...

As with all interviews dress smart, prepare by researching the company, know the role you are applying for, know your CV and be ready to take hard questions on it...

Did you know that only 10% of what you say in an interivew affects the decison and that the remaining 90% is made up of how you say things and act... So be confident and articulate. They are interviewing you becuase you ARE GOOD at what you do. You just need to be confident and make sure they buy into you at this stage...

    Good Luck!
