    Default Vectra C SRI Alarm

I have a new vectra C and the alarm is not sensitive at all, i can boot the wheel or bang on the window and it wont go off at all, any know if the sensitivity can be altered?

Also, i managed to make the alarm go off by when i jacked the car up. But the alarm was more like a sqeel than an alarm. I heard a SAAB Alarm recently and i was really loud, im pretty sure the alarm on the saab uses the HORN on the car as the alarm as the noise was the same. Does anyone know if the vectras alarm can be hooked up to the horn so the alarm is louder?

    Thanks,

The alarm siren is in the boot hidden behind the left hand boot trim (behind the Fuse box) If you open the trim you will see the connector on the back of the siren. Disconnect it and the body control module on the car then resends the alarm siren thru the main car horn. 10 times louder, the only problem on the dash each time you put the ignition on an Alarm fault will register in the display. No problems just cancel the fault each time.

Deosn't work on all Vectra's though.

As for the sensitivity, it's not designed to go off by kicking the wheels or thumping the window. If it was, then it would go off every time a lorry thundered by it. It's designed to go off if a door or the boot/bonnet are opened, or if any of the glass windows are smashed - which trigers the ultrasonic movement detectors.

Hi Guys, i have tried to access the section where the siren is in the boot but the carpet doesnt seem to want to pull back. Anyone know the best way to access the siren?

I thought maybe putting the back seat down and getting in there, bhut didnt seem obvious. Cheers,

its in the little cubby hole on the lefthand side in the boot ...... where the fuses are ...the alarm is a bit further along.

This worked on my 04 sri ..but it doesn't work on all full cambus cars

Thanks for this, I get the warning everytime but could not find a fault with my system, and have yet to hear the alarm go off, hopefully it is as simply as the plug being pulled from the speaker in the boot.

from memory, atleast on the pre facelight, the fusepanel is forward of bay/pocket, the siren is visible behind hit, i.e. between the light cluster and the fuse box.

IIRC, it should be visible, I will check mine when I get home tonight as I want to see if I can plug mine back in, assuming it is unplugged.

Or you can just see it here: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1460086
