estate- remove roof rails ?

I cleaned the car for the third time this year when i noticed some green matter in the recess under the roof rail. This happened to be birch seeds that has germinated during the late summer rains. The beginnings of a small forest Most of this i managed to remove by spraying water with a hard jet but not all.
So, now i wonder if the roof rails coud be removed relatively easy to properly clean out the recess???

No not relativ easy.. you would have to take down the rooflining at the side.. (ONLY do one side at the time..).. but its only fasted with a few bolts.. but you have to also loosen the curtain airbag abit ect..

but can be done (ive change my roofrails...)

good to know.though i fixed it by pushing a piece of cloth underneath the rail, and once under it could be pulled back and forth
