Default Code Reader for vectra c 120bhp

I lost power at low revs until the turbo kicks in then it would drive ok until you have to stop and pull away then no power until the turbo kicks in.

    spanner light was intermitantly on.

Now engine man light on all the time.

It is getting harder to start the car, still no power at low revs and black smoke at low revs.

I have tried changing the MAF which seemed to improve the starting.

Just ordered a code Reader so I can find out what is wrong with the car
this will be about a week until i receive it.

Any guys / girls in west lothian with a code reader that can test the car before next week so i can start to find out what the problem is.

    Thanks

    Vehicle : Vectra C estate

    Trim : SRI

    Engine : Z19DTH

    Year : 2008

    Mileage : 79000

on the 150's they suffer with dry solder joints on the throttle body circuit board, and it constantly throws the car into lm, and it sows right down, maybe the 120s suffer with the same fault, maybe worth having a look around the forum

    Update for you all

I got a code reader and it through up a P2279

Changed the VAC pipes at the front of the engine bay and the EGR valve

Reset the fault codes and EML

Car starts with just one turn of the key

All looks good again, taking it for a run of about 200 miles in the morning to see if all is good again, but the signs so far look ok.

    Back from my run

Noticed that I had more low down power and the turbo now working again with very little smoke from the back.

Now the car has another problem around 2000 to 2500 rev's

Its like a kangaroo below 2000 revs its fine. and above 2500 revs its fine.

I will be using the code reader again to see if it finds anything.

I intend to change the fual filter next as I dont think its been done from new (60500 miles)

    any other sergestions are welcome

    NOW I HAVE HAD ENOUGH

On my way home today, engine under load, I heard a loud pop and then a hiss (as though air was being released from a compressor)

At the same time, no power at all and white smoke from the back,

I was only 1 mile from home so was able to limp the thing home in a cloud of white smoke.

I put a code reader on it to see

P2279-11 Intake Air System Leak Detected
P0180-07 Fual Temperature Sensor Circuit High Input
P0130-03 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0234-5A Boost Pressure Control Circuit Negative Deviation

    Now I need help

I am going to check in the morning for any pipes that have split or popped off.
I have checked the Oil and Water levels and all is normal.

The car will start but white smoke plumes out the back.

My only fear is that either the head has gone or the turbo has gone.

    Any advice or comments welcome

Well m8 check that the intercooler is not leaking - may need a second person: rev the car to 2000ish rpm, listen for leaks. Also check that all air hose unions are sound by applying pressure (wiggling) - a loose joint can look OK, but under boost, it can leak.

    UPDATE

Things are not good looks like the turbo is fooooked

I checked all the pipes (no splits or loose)

When I checked the pipe going to the turbo (the big black pipe) I found oil in the pipe and in the turbo arround the butterfly valve.

I cleaned the oil away and refitted the pipe, started the car for about 30 seconds (plumes of smoke again out the back)

Checked the pipe and turbo again to find more oil.

I think the seals are away in the turbo

    What your thoughts guys
