got mine from HID'S direct and there metal base.

got the 8000k 50w kit tho

mine area pain to get sitting right aswell its the stupid little soft metal twist things that are useless

vx need a better design imo

I have the metal base ones too.

Mine just clip in and have no retainer rings or clips, they simply push and lock in.

Got mine from hids4us (same products as carmod shop apparantely) and they're plastic base HID bulbs. Fitted in my facelift lights with no problems. Nice and snug like.

Must be due to me getting the newer colour and not on metal base mine from hid direct cheap nastly bendy plastic base but I've ordered metal ones so should fit perfect
