Default Still smoking after new turbo

Alright this is for you guys that have blown a turbo

Couple weeks ago I blew the turbo on the z20net and when I mean blew I fully blew it chucked loads of oil onto the cat.

Wondering how long it took for the oil and smoke to clear out your exhaust as my exhaust is still chucking out a load of smoke when booting

i had same prob had all turbo recond, a few weeks later it started smoking again, felt like torching it but apparently turbo technics didn't do it right so had it done again and now it perfect.

mine was soaked realy bad, used 7ltr of oil in 2 week
did you have all parts soaked in cleaner, as i had to have all exhaust e.c.t cleaned as it was thick with oil.

Did you also empty any oil from the intercooler?

as part of a system clear out manufacturers recommend a full and thorough clean of all pipes associated with the turbo system first ...

then fast idle 3000rpm for 10 minutes

then stand to idle for an hour

then an extended drive cycle for an hour in lower gears to really burn the excess off

    Hello,

I have a Vectra 2.2 dti sri and the turbo blew on Friday. Luckily I found a used turbo on eBay and was replaced on Saturday. A complete oil change was done Sunday morning, and the initial start-up on midday.

There is loads of smoke coming out the exhaust and even to this date there is a cloud of smoke continuously exiting the exhaust. Smoke colour is white, but if reved it changes to white & balck.

The car is misfiring and it is hard to keep the revs stable.

Does anyone know how long this smoke will last for? There is only on error showing up on the DTC – EGR valve, but i reckon this is due to the system being filled with oil.

    Please can someone help?
    Thanks,
    Steve.
