Default Please tell me my car isn't going to cost a fortune!

    Please anybody who can help

Yesterday morning we went out and almost straight away noticed something very strange, it was almost like clutch judder (never happened before) slowly as the day passed it gradually got a little worse almost to the extent I was a little worried maybe a top strut mount, ball joint etc was gone, I would dip the clutch, roll, loose it out and judder??????? When pulling of judder???? Changing gear judder?????
Now this morning popped out and it didn't seem too bad, although I have just been to the garage, it's juddering a he'll of alot, I have a faint smell of oil in the cabin and I have a car that feels very dry and sounds like it has a supercharger, real whine in all gears,

PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME MY GEARBOX ISN'T POOOPED
    Thanks I advance mark

No mate it is whining like a old straight cut mini/metro box, but also feels very loose and dry I you know what I mean

There are no oil patches from what I can see but there is a faint smell of oil in the cabin and it does smell oily under the bonnet but no clear signs of a leak that I can see, I have no torch to check properly

Sadly not, the DMF relates to most large modern cars now to reduce vibrations

When the DMF is replaced also replace the clutch

Would it make the whiny noise if the DMF has gone?
