Afternoon all just need a bit of advice about me car security , i got a traveler down the road thats taking a lot of interest in me car , hes being friendly and polite but i dont trust him as far as i can throw him ,plus got the added worry of hes got a towing van aswell ,was wondering if the veccy security would hold up to him trying to tow it or half inch it ? if not what added security would be best please ? The alarm may go off but if they want it they will take it. Even if it means taking the keys from your home

Park it in gear, that will help if its towed.

If your car is worth more than £5000 then consider a tracking installation
Once the car is under £2000 in value have it removed (the annual subscription will cost more than the insurance difference)

However, if your car was stolen, would you want it back?
Having seen the state some come back in and all the hassle involved I don't think it's worth it

My first car was stolen after owning it for just 3 months, leaving it parked for less than 5 minutes, discovered by the Police (helps when your neighbour is a big cheese) about 3 hours later
I asked if I should bring the keys, to which the response was "Don't bother"

Get one of these from Maplin (often found on ebay even cheaper); no monthly fees, you just put a SIM in it and whenever you text it it sends back its location, accurate to within 5 metres.

Interesting, but they don't advise what the power source is and what the expected battery life is
Not sure it could be hidden inside the car easily
Equally, if it was activated, would it be silent?
