Door handle loose

Just bought an 03 elegance and have noticed that the rear passenger door handle is a bit loose, and does not return fully after being pulled.

Is it a new handle required or can the mechanism be tightened / adjusted?

When you open the door, look above the lock mechanism, there is a grommet covering a torx screw. Take it off, pull the handle to the open position and undo the screw fully. It won't come out, but I believe it needs to be undone. That's the first thing I'd check.

Tried that this morning but when I loosened the nut completely, the handle would not go back in at all lol

Is it likely taking the handle out and then putting it back in will tighten it up ?
