Lol, the engine had been switched off for a few minutes after a "spirited" run (well I had to test the gauge worked didnt I lol). I just flicked the ignition on to take that shot so it was a tad hot.

Engines always get hotter when you first switch them off as the water isn't circulating round the cooling system. On a normal run mine sits at about 85 ish, a "spirited" run will see it nudging just over 90.

    Ah I see,

I thoroughly admire all of the efforts on your car Ian, I look forward to all new threads posted by yourself and Caveman Nige, I've picked up alot of ideas from the pair of you, boost gauge will be next on my list as I'm really looking to get the interior finished in mine.
Where did you get the gauge then? I've been watching a listing on Ebay by Neobrothers for one, £36 + £4.95 p&p

    Thanks for the comments

I phoned Nicholas at Neo Brothers direct. I've spent a LOT of money with them recently (stage 3 remap, boost hoses, water hoses, gauge and 4 x 19" tyres so far) so if I ask nicely I get a bit of discount lol

Ian, do you have a Scottish accent by any chance (due to your user name)... I need to know so I can phone Nic and pretend to be you, for the discount.

LMAO, no, I don't. I moved down from Edinburgh (and yes I'm aware that's not the highlands) when I was 11 (I'm 39 this month) so I have a horrible hertfordshire accent. The nickname comes from my love of Queen (the band) and the film Highlander (that they did the soundtrack for).

That and my schoolfriends used to call me it and it was my CB handle back in the day.

Wasnt there something about not putting gauges on the pillars on Vec c's? I may well be confusing it with something else

As long as the airbag can deploy safely it's fine
