    Default Unfinished Business....

Well last year my CDTI 150 decided to have a shutting down issue. What was happening was I would be driving along and the engine would cut out. Well my answer - after the manifold and injector looms had been done already was the throttel body. I didn't have soldering iron at the time so I just removed the plate in October - car ran fine. Well today - 4 weeks after I blanked the EGR valve I decided to rid the manifold of the gunk which had built up since October once and for all.

With thanks to this thread (cheers andreitone):

    Throttle Body with plate removed:

After seperating the top and bottom parts, I noticed that the gears which link the base of the stepper motor and position sensor (so I believe) were totally clean - never been opened up so obviously mine wasn't getting the oil issue.

Then there is the electrics, again nothing here which would make me say 'oh there is the problem' seemed reasonable with most of solder joints fine - some were brown but not critical.

Overall impressed, car is back to the power it should have as factory intended.

As to whether any faults have been relieved I don't know as I don't have a code reader, but been on a 50mile drive today and never missed a beat. So I'm happy enough.

    Thanks for reading.

I'll keep this in mind for the future - as you know, I'm all for making the 150 that bit more reliable.
