    Eek irmscher wheels

my dad has just taken delivery of his (second hand) Irmscher Spectras (17") for his vec but has a problem.
they don't come with valves for the tyres and the garages he has been to have told him that the holes are too small for normal tyre valves and that he needs 'special' valves.
has anyone else had this problem before? if so, where do you get these valves from?
the most worrying thing is that the vauxhall dealers didn't have a clue what he needed so they called Irmscher who also didn't seem to have a clue???!!!
any help would be gratefully received.
    thanks.

he's been to 3 good local tyre fitters and they all say the same thing.

so with your wheels you just used normal rubber valves?

in the past few minutes he has had a garage tell him that he needs 'jap' valves - anyone heard of these?

Nope I was never told that, I went in, asked for new tyres to be fitted, paid and left! I have even done the same with my Subaru (jap car) and again, no problems.

Sounds like he's getting fed alot of crap, when I bought my evo stars there was no problem fitting the new tyres. I even got valves with fancy chrome stems

Buy 4 from ebay and try them yourself, hardly a loss at £1.50 delivered. Strange that 3 places say the same though.

perhaps ''buggy valves'' are what they mean when they say special valves, these are much smaller length wise so dont stick out so far, thats the only difference in them....

edit :- just thought they may also be known as motorbike valves..

i have these fitted to my car btw and they are much much shorter that standard valves
