Got a 32gb iPhone 3GS running 4.2.1 on bb 06:15:00 (iPad baseband) jailbroken with redsn0w and unlocked with ultrasn0w. Hacktivated with SAM prefs. The phone is teathetrd. My carrier is virgin.

The problem with using the iPad baseband is that the GPS doesn't work but if you are running a baseband that's not unlockable then upgrading to it is the only option.

Just to clarify for people. Jailbreaking and unlocking are two separate things. However, to unlock the iPhone out if contract you have to jailbreak it first. If you are in contract then just phone up you carrier and they'll do a factory unlock for around £15. This means you can upgrade the iOS without having to jailbreak again plus it'll add value to the phone when you sell it.
