In standard guise, Foosty ST with 147bhp weighs 1137kg, Vectra (pre-face hatch?) weighs 1570kg with 180bhp?

The Foosty might do it as quick, but at least in the Vectra you hardly feel like you are doing anything! I would have comfortable speed over frantic speed anyday.

I was thinking this running through this thread... power to weight ratio is gona help but as has been said previously, the fooster is gona be revving it's nuts off and the Vec won't be making a peep. I know what'd I'd rather have - oh wait, I already do

I wouldn't be fussed not burning someone in a fooster, he's still driving a ford anyway......

It was very quiet and comfortable at 3000 revs, a bit like being in a bed. Not like being on a skateboard.

I was actually there near the bypass, I know the Fiesta in question, she was late for a booking as she is a mobile hairdresser so she did have her foot down...they had to close the road soon after due to "smog" & pollution from your car!

I was actually thinking... I've seen the likes of evo's with the switch that injects a 'shot' of petrol into the exhaust system to make a flame. Wondered if you could do the same with a diesel.... Instant smoke bomb.... James bond style.

pwr may be higher in the little ford, but the torque-weight of the diesel is far better. this should give it better mid range performance.
all told though, there probably wouldn't be much in it for a flat out drag race. a couple of hp here or there is nothing.

Your original quote should tell you something - he didn't have the power to pass you
