After almost 2 years of Vectra ownership I'm going to get rid of the Veccy sometime this year.
Last Friday me, the missus and kids went off to the east coast for the weekend and as soon as we pulled into the caravan park the I noticed the tickover was above 1000 rpm, heater was playing up and heavy steering. For those in the know, alternator gone.
It was only a few weeks ago I was spending on it getting the EGR seen to, now this. Altogether I've laid out £453 in a few months, unacceptable in my opinion.
This latest failure cost £318 to put right, at the ONLY local garage in the area, even worse we were stranded 100 miles from home. I can't accept the fact either that there was NO battery warning light come on, which would probably had given the game away and afforded me advance warning. This is dangerous in my opinion, what if the steering goes heavy on a motorway at 70mph?
I still have finance on it, but I may as well take the opportunity now and buy a nice MPV, maybe a C4 grand Picasso, who knows, I'll scout around and see if a good one comes up, petrol this time though I think!
