Sorry it won't let me pm you back for some reason off my phone.they def paired together? Not sure with that headunit but I wouldn't have thought you needed to start cutting up wires , did it plug straight in ok?

everything plugged in straight away, like a dream really - thought it was going too well - I bought the unit from Ebay and the seller assured me that it was all paired and working - so dunno what to do now

well, heres me thinking i could just take out the old unit and replace with the new - apparently not! the radio works and the screen turns on and thats it! no matter what buttons i press just get the vauxhall logo on the screen. Any advise please - im not confident enough to start cutting wires and adding new connectors etc if thats whats needed.

Worth double checking its all in ok , did you disconnect the battery or not when youe were doing it?

no i didnt disconnect the battery, should i have done? is there a way of checking to make sure the two are paired or is this a Tech2 jobby?

I would have disconnected it tbh but may be worth a shot, just resets stuff I think, plus i find it better when workin on electrical stuff

yeah as you say dont think you can check the pairing without tech2, but i dont know what the symptoms of an unpaired set, might not get as far as the logo. try the battery, just make sure you have a code and stuff if you need one, not sure on your car

It didnt on mine but I dont know how different our cars are, plenty of people on here disconnect their batteries without issues would be worth double checking to make sure, people swap out batterie and stuff all the time with no problems and like you say you have your code.

Hi, just disconnected the battery and re-fitting the new unit and connected the battery again - but no effect whatsoever.

any other suggestions?

if your old unit goes back in an works I would say somethin is up with your new headunit. I assume its deffo suitable for your car? dont know much about the preface setup sorry

Sorry I don't know anyone else, I normally fit my own stuff. Sorry I cant be of any help, done evrythin I would do, like you say its hooked up fine. Try another thread with your symptoms sure someone will know on here.
