    Default throttle body question

    ive just took my throttle body off to give it a clean and **** me.it was full of sticky oil. whys it like that ????? i no theres two pipe that come from the top of the engine to the trottle body and thats were its come from.but im no machanic.and i dont think it should have that much oil there. cheers luke

    Could just be oil sweat m8, however I would imagine the oil sweat/breather would be located just after the MAF sensor. Maybe it joins straight to the TB in the 1.8's. Also I assume your throttle is electronically controlled.

    its is electronically controlled and it does join straight to the TB ive gave the car a full service last week and i filtered the old oil and there was a load of thick grany stuff a the bottom.i dont think its been serviced since 05 mybe that was the problem i dont no.the tb is clean now and the car is fully serviced.
