advice needed please

Hi folks and Happy new year,

I am looking for some advice,

I replaced the stereo in 05 vec sri150 1.9 and all is well with that,
however I sold the standard cd30 on ebay.Now as i wasn't sure it would work in another car I never said it would in my listing I said it was in perfect working order when removed from mine.

The chap who has bought it said he needed the radio code which i gave him.He replied it wasn't correct and now he wants the immobilizer code for my car.

Is it ok to give out this number or is a number I should be keeping to myself for security reasons?

The chap who bought it claims to be a vehicle progressor at eden vauxhaull so surely should have know it wouldn't be a slot in and work job.

Rough guess you didn't get the CD30 headunit 'divorced' from your vehicle before you removed it. The new owner is now in the same position as someone who nicked it. If he works at a Vx stealership he should have no real problem using their in house systems to get all the codes he needs. If the headunit serial number matches the one on your vehicle passport and you have given him the radio code from the aforementioned passport, then you can do little else.
