    Default Help Needed!

Hi Guys... I'm hoping someone here will be able to help.

I've been getting white smoke out of the back of the Signum (2.0T) and got a code for the lambda sensor which was changed. Smoke has got worse with loss of power so called out the AA who diagnosed a faulty turbo.

Had this confirmed by a mechanic who said the oil seals had gone so got a new turbo fitted. Now when they have come to start it up the smoke is horrendous as in it engulfed the workshop and interior of the car.

First thought was rings but had it compression tested and all cylinders came back within 10% of each other. Anyone know what the pressure should be as all I can seem to find is the compression ratio?

Any other ideas guys? Oh.... no more codes showing up on the code reader either.

    HELP!

    Compression test results were

    1st test 120 130 135 135
    2nd test 140 130 133 133

    These figures seem about right?

Which unit of measurement are you using? The minimum pressure should be 12.4 bar (or 180 PSI). More than 2 bar difference between any two cylinders indicates a fault.

PSI so all very low i'm guessing. Any ideas?

I'm no expert, but the obvious thing to look at if all 4 cylinders are low on pressure is the head gasket, rather than rings etc.

White some is usually coolant being burned off in ther cylinders so if what Jezzy is saying is correct, then it sounds like the head or gasket has packed up? What are the oil and collant levels like?

Coolant levels have been fine and oil consumption is smack on what Vauxhall say it should be 1L for every 1000 miles.
