Been told by a local Kwik Fit (gulp! sorry, it's the only place I know round here, I'm in the middle of nowhere!) that I have to get the tracking done when I change the front coil springs.
Is this true?

Your best off yes, Kwick fit no.
Get a full alignment done from one of the establishments on www.alignmycar.co.uk
lol, wouldn't actually let them do any work anyway
cheers for the help
Yes get them aligned after lowering the car... but wait for a week or two.
The suspension will settle and its best get it realigned once the settling down has finished.
I just got a 4 wheel alignment done after having a new rack fitted and the difference is incredible. The front wheel toe was miles out of tolerance, but I'm still amazed at the difference a couple of degrees of adjustment can make.
Cost me £58.75, worth every penny IMO.
