Hello,
Nw i ve vectra C 2008 with 1.6 engine 105 hp..

I think of selling it and buy a Civic SiR 1.6 170 hp..
That will be cheaper as there is no other veccy with engine larger than 1.6 and it will cost me alot if i swap another engine.. More than that, the 2.0T engine is not available to be swapped, only 1.8, 2.2 and 3.2..

Any advice??

The language barrier is causing confusion here, we dont have 1.6 vectra c's over here. He also says they dont have vectras with larger engines but then he say they do lol.

He had a thread a while back about wanting to swap his 1.6 engine for a 2.2 (as he said thats all he could get) to then be able to fit an aftermarket turbo onto it... Advice given back then was to buy a more powerful car...

An opinion he wants, he wants a much more powerful car, I think the general opinion still is he should buy a more powerful car..

I can get other engines as they are available as donor cars not for current drive, i.e as used spare parts..

Here we dont have any vectra C with larger than 1.6 as MANSOUR the dealer doesnt import them..

So i can only swap 1.8, 2.2 or 3.2 petrol engines in mine
Or buy another powerful car..

So what s ur opinion..

Risk of swapping or change the whole car??

I really love my Veccy but she is very slow!!
And if i decide to swap another engine , it will cost me alot and i cant be sure of the results...
Also fitting turbo is very difficult and expensive..

Let me get it straight, U have quite young car but not powerful enought to make u satisfied. I think that swapping engine to another is a risky idea. I dont know what is the mileage but it in 2yo car it shouldnt be very big. If u like your car, if it's reliable try to invest in modifications of existing unit, and if u expect to make a monster change whole car. Anyway 1.6 is definitely too small engine for such a big car.
