150 BHP diesel, 2008, CAT D, 25000 miles, no history, what do you think:

I have rung the seller an Asian chap in Birmingham, there is no history at all and the clutch and flywheel have been replaced. I know they can go early but at less than 25000 miles seems unusual. Also the odometer image shows 19000 miles. Is is still worth a look or should I forget it, I think it should be forgotten but would be nice to have some opinions from you guys.

Sounds a little odd really, why the mileage discrepancy ? Maybe an old photo ?

Oh and its not unheard of for DMF to fail under 25000, so could be a good and genuine deal.

ring back and ask where it was hit and who repaired it if he says dont know to either leave alone if he knows ask if any damaged pics then ask to see receipt of repair if doddgy he will be off phone in a flash

Im in Birmingham, find out an address and I will fly past if its nearby and see if I can spot anything.

Having looked the images, the thing that got me was the fact that its a 150bhp, but the tailgate seems to have the chrome 120 CDTI badge, indicating its had a tailgate replacement.

But thats just a huntch I have-it could just be a crappy picture so the colour isnt visible.

Bit of research for you mate, be a bit careful, looks like these guys do something to do with taxi plating!

Thank you vaux-man-g, useful information there. The phone conversation was vague, he claims it has been used by a friend and he is selling it for him. I think I will leave it well alone, being almost 100 miles away and the word taxi and no history at all it would be one hell of a gamble.

I'd be interested to know why he's listed it as having 25,000 miles on it but the photo of the clocks clearly shows 19k. As others have said, walk.

Thing is, as its less than 3 years old, it doesnt need an MOT, so if the word TAXI does come into the sentence in anyway, there is probably no way of knowing the truth apart from ECU checking it, like some other members have done (although I am led to believe that taxis have a 3-month MOT??), IF taxi is in the sentence somwhere, then its also probably highly likely that the car WASNT serviced by a Vauxhall garage, again no real way to checking the miles.

Deffo for me.

Oh, and I have just checked the Post Code and it falls into an area called Small Heath / Sparkboork. Lets just say (this is without me being disrespectful or attempting to offend anyone) I usually dont even entertain going to see a car in that area, have had some quite unpleasant experiences with cars being on finance, damaged, complete crock of poo and also been told one thing and when I get there its quite another!! Again, no disprespect or offence is intended, this is just my experience!!

DMFs can go at any mileage, ive fitted some at as little as 17k!!
