    Default 1.9CDTI Woes

    Hi all,

for the past few weeks I have become aware of exhaust fumes entering the cabin when idling, tis ok when on the move.

If I press the recirc button or switch heater fan off then no smell. So today I lifted the hood and did me sniff test whilst engine idling and boy I was almost gassed. A really strong exhaust smell at the area of where the intercooler pipe goes into the inlet manifold, very close to where the infamous EGR is at top of engine.

Could this be a leaking EGR due to blockage?

Note the car runs perfect, no lumpy running, no dash warnings but boy its a strong exhaust smell

Could be a gasket m8, Get it sorted asap m8, exhaust gases are very dangerous.

If you have the original manifold i would put these symptoms down to a kn**kerd manifold 9down to a 'T'), If not go for egr gaskets or tb gaskets, if you have access to a ramp give the exhaust the once over,
