Renewal time!!

Just had my renewal quote through and its been hiked up to £1634.47!!! Thats more than double what it was last year!

I've been with Halifax for years as they've always been quite competitive. The renewal letter says they have teamed up with BISL Ltd and that I can relax knowing I've got another 'great deal' lol.

I've had a look around and the best I can get is £844.59 with Axa.

I had a claim due to some ******* sticking a firework through the rear window of my last Vectra in December last year.

I have no convictions and am 32 with 9 years no claims.

I knew insurance had gone up, but this is taking the mickey!

Anyone have any suggestions?

near enough the same spec as you, except 4 years older insurance is just the wrong side of £400 with adrian flux

Have you tried all the comparison sites?

Never stick with the same insurer, i shop around every year and my insurance came in at £300ish

Are you sure they aren't holding the claim against you.Also throw your wife/mum or any female on the insurance as a named driver as that can knock a couple of hundred off

I've gone through their web form and am awaiting an email. Will give them a bell tomorrow.

Have tried gocompare and comparethemeerkat and they're disappointing really. Best one on those was just under £1000.

I'll try chucking the Mrs on and see what happens.

Just got my renewal in from 1st Direct, you wont be happy.......













£244 fully comp, protected NCB.

Thats 2 years running they have been cheapest for me. But tbh its pretty basic cover. No Prsonal Protection, No Hire car, No Driving other cars 3rd Party. Most have said car insurance is going up this year but tbh I cannot ever remember getting a cheaper quote in all my years of driving.
