what does Regen,,,

have just read a thread about a member with a fault/warning light, A reply was "does it come on during A REGEN" The car was a 1.8 like mine so please tell what is a regen, thanks ANT.

hi mate well what iv bein told it is when your dpf cloggs up and the car dose a "regen" were it burns off all the soot and then stops so people say its every 2 tanks or what ever but i dono i just saying what iv bein told but iv got told this mind you but he was a member and he sounded like he knew his s**t hope this helps

The regen is the cleaning of the Diesel Particulate filter (dpf) on diesel engine cars. If yours is a 1.8, its a petrol.

well i dono im lost m8 but id say i was right bout the burning off the soot bit but with a diesel but petrol cant help soz (did try lol)
