VXR gear knob info required

im after putting a vxr gear knob on my sri and wanted to know if its a direct fit and also does any1 have a part number or know where i can get one from, cheers

its easy yes it can be done but you need the whole stick with the knob, i got mine of e bay it was from a astra so i had to change gaitor a well worth it mod if i am honest hated the factory job, dealer charges 180 quid for knob so best to keep eye out on ebay

If its a 6 speed then i would presume it will fit, i did mine , and a few others , 30 min job if that , and thats the shaft and knob

Its not hard mate, i should have done one when i did them ,

So the way i fitted mine

If i remember as it was ages ago

Put the car into gear and remove the gator
Undo 4 torque bolts that hold it onto the car
Assuming you also are changing the shaft,

There is a big thick silver pin , this can be slid out carefully , without disturbing anything
get 2 x long flat head screw drivers and use one of them to "pop" out the ball joint at the bottom of the gear shaft
once done it should all just come out,

Refitting it is vice versa of fitting, except pushing the bottom ball joint back in, this bit can be tricky but also can be done
