If you have the TC switch you can turn it off but it will automaticaly switch back on at about 40mph. As far as I am aware you can not turn it off permanantly.
The wipers should stop when the engine is switched off. They are not speed dependent. But if you have the rain sensor on the windscreen then they will be "rain sensitive". They will go faster or slower as the rain gets heavier or less heavy.

Also, the wipers should always park in the 'down' position at the foot of the windscreen when switched off or when the engine is switched off.

i have a tc switch fitted but i have driven at 60 with the light on dash (eg tc switched off) but i havent slipped the wheels at that speed, when the wheels slip above 40 does it automatically re-engage the tc??

and TC switches are available from vauxhall dealers, about £12 give or take!

Do you have a switch on the dashboard to turn it off.
It souinds like your is working fine. The TC cuts in when it sences a wheel or wheels spinning.
