    Default drl"s

Hi Guys read somewhere on here a while ago that drl"s can be set using tech 2 equiptment..... But does anyone know the legalities if say for example the front fogs were set to come on with the ignition to act as drl lights, also has anyone on here actually done it.

Not sure on the tech/2 side... But I've got 501 led's wired into my fogs at min, not strictly DRL's as i didn't take a feed from an ignition live - they just come on with the side lights (but i've always had the habit of putting them on anyway)... Never been pulled or had probs, mini's have side lights in a similar location and if pulled my fog lights still work so i can show its not them...

I made it more complicated then it actually is, by adding switches etc...

You could wire it up in half hour, just take a feed from an ignition live and wire in 2 side light holders. I just used normal speaker wire also

Cheers, if you just ignore all the switches and keep it basic, its just a few meters worth of speaker wire fed through to under the bonnet and your laughing

    My simplified guide

Get in behind the rear power socket and pull out these wires (hopefully you'll have the blocks)

For DRL's take the power from the black cig lighter wire, for light switch activated take from the yellow/grey wire on the blocks... Any brown for negative will do...

Then run the speaker wire under the centre consol, behind the glove box and out the rubber grommet in the fire wall... Then its easy to hide in the battery tray like this

You now have power and an earth for your new bulb holders with easy access under the engine...
