Default Thinking of changing my vectra

    Hi all

I drive a 03 vectra 2litre dti, its got 107k miles on it but recently have had trouble with it and heard the injector pumps give some serious trouble on these..
Anyway I would like a newer car and was thinking of upgrading to a vectra design cdti, great spec car, but
Some people say they are a great car while others say I’m mad as they are crap and are
Not near as reliable engine wise as the 2l dti..
    Seen a 07 design vectra 120bhp with 89k on it for 4700..
Also the 120bhp are not as troublesome as the 150bhp –is that true?

    Any advice on this appreciated

    Thanks

I had a '56 Design 1.9cdti 150, as you said a great spec car (mine was factor ordered with 18" wheels & VXR body kit too), the only problems I had were a EGR valve at 30k & a alternator at 60k, car was replaced at 85k so not sure of higher mileage issues

The range sort of splits after the exclusive either going the sporty Sri/gsi/vxr route or the luxury Design/Elite way. The Sri has the looks/handling but the Design has the toys

You would have to be popping the top cover off (no tools) and checking the swirl road is in place and secure, etc - Im very happy with my 1.9 150, its a great engine !!!

I have to agree with that ^ had my 150 for a long time now, and no regrets at all. Fantastic motor.
But - do your research and be very careful before buying. Then you'll have no problems.
120 version doesn't have the swirl flaps to worry about, otherwise the same.

Not being funny but as far as problems are concerned a 1.9 is more prone to problems than a DTi. Fuel pumps do not give serious issues on the dti and are less common than swirl flaps, dmfs, and egrs on the cdti
