folding door mirriors

probably been covered before guys but has anyone here changed the standard electric door mirriors to folding electric ones. would love to do this mod but wondering how involved it may be.

There's a massive thread with all the info you need as a few of us, me included, have done this.

You'll need new mirror housings, and depending on the spec of your car both the passenger and driver's door modules replaced (PDM and DDM) or if you've got a higher specced model (like my Elite) I only needed to replace one of the modules (PDM I think it was).

Have a search for that thread - all the info is there.

Thanks for quick reply duncan my car is a 55 pre face lift 2.2 sri spec, did you do this yourself mate,or get it done for you.

its easy done by your self.. only thing i couldnt doo as vaux-com wouldt allow me to program my ddm/pdm.

ok nice one may have to start looking for parts, would relly like to get this mod on my car. thankyou for reply. shame you are not closer would be asking for your help..

One of the mirrors neede are on ebay

also if you want dimming drivers side mirror some of the bits are also there..

Yea thankyou ken spotted that one . will be keepin an eye open at scrappys and on here for a while, to see if I can get it done at a reasonable cost.

I did it myself, except for the programming bit as like kenp my (legit) Vaux-COM doesn't do that so I had to pay a dealer to do it with Tech 2. As I had the higher spec DDM and the relevant wiring (and had the dimming rear-view mirror) I also then added the dimming door mirror glass as it was simply a straight swap to then have it dimming.
